Bond, transfer length, and flexural behavior of large-diameter prestressing strands.
My prestressed concrete research centers on large-diameter, 19-wire, 28.6 mm (1.125 in.) strands — sizes beyond current code provisions and industry precedent. I characterize their bond, transfer length, and development length through large-scale testing, and translate those results into flexural design guidance for pretensioned girders.
